Elegant Estate Micro Wedding at Wooster Farm | North Haven Island, Maine

Wall paper and ceiling of sitting room tattered and torn, so we tore it off as soon as we were settled. Decided to paint frescoes on the walls of scenes about North Haven. // Frank W. Benson, 1908

These two. This day. What magic!

Melina and Jeff dreamed of an elegant estate micro wedding at a place dear to their hearts — an event that would thoughtfully highlight the place and the faces around them in equal measure. Safe to say it was brought to life exquisitely.

I love a good Maine island wedding, and the moment I stepped onto Wooster Farm in North Haven, I knew we were in for an incredible day. It's the kind of historic setting that lends itself beautifully to a timeless kind of romance, with sweeping ocean views, apple trees, quaint nooks, and the artistic legacy of one impressionist painter who previously owned the estate and left behind charming strokes on its walls.

When Melina and I first connected, she described the intended experience of their wedding in a way that really resonated. Her vision was equal parts elegance and relaxed, while embodying the spirit of coastal Maine in all its whimsy, drama, and magic. If any words were to perfectly encapsulate the feeling of a Maine island wedding, these were them. And what a dreamy, elevated affair it was!

While keeping the nature of their micro wedding intimate, Melina and Jeff dressed to the nines and thoughtfully wove each classic detail into their celebration design — complete with plenty of lobster and champagne. Props to Melina's father, who, on a whim, was able to secure a cool vintage blue convertible for a surprise joyride after the newlywed’s I do's. Creative credit is also due to the groom himself, for his tennis photo op vision stylishly executed during cocktail hour.

And oh, did they dance the night away under a brilliant harvest moon shining over North Haven.

Moments after their oceanside ceremony, I heard Melina gush, "I'm on a cloud!" while embracing loved ones. It truly felt that way from beginning to end (honestly, I think I was up on that cloud with them).

Melina + Jeff, you know how to do it! It was such a gift, a dream, a loving experience spending the day with you and the big hearts around you. Thank you for having me.
