White Mountains Couples Session in Franconia, NH | Laurel + Adam

“I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery - air, mountains, trees, people. I thought, ‘This is what it is to be happy.’”

Ask me where my favorite place in the world is, and I’ll tell you by the ocean. To me, it’s home - and I’ve always been a homebody.

A close second? The mountains. I feel so fortunate that I live on the coast and can easily jet off to the mountains in just a couple hours time. Some of my favorite adventures involve driving up into New Hampshire to explore the Whites, particularly in the fall and spring months when the air has a delicious crisp quality to it.

So, when the opportunity came to meet up with friends and photograph them in the White Mountains during the peak of foliage season (pun intended), my photographer’s heart skipped a beat. Those who know me know that I love autumn - the leaves, the air, the coziness, the festive fall activities. I get giddy just thinking about it. It seemed that all the elements were colliding for a perfect fall photo session - so I roped my boyfriend in and we made a little getaway out of it.

A few weeks later we were checking into the coziest Airbnb cottage in Bethlehem, New Hampshire, exploring trails brimming with waterfalls, and hiking over 5,000 feet into the air. We finished our excursion with a gorgeous photo session, as I followed Laurel and Adam through trees, rivers and mountains to capture their love. Their happiness and peace with each other was so apparent and contagious - and how fitting that I photographed them in such a peaceful, simple place.
