Meg + Cam | York Harbor, Maine Engagement Session
“Some people walk in the rain; others just get wet.”
I met Meg and Cam just about a month ago at a new (well, new to me) coffee shop in downtown Portsmouth, where I listened to their vision for their Memorial Day Weekend wedding next year and offered up my thoughts to help them in the planning process. They were instantly open to suggestions and told me how excited they had gotten about their wedding just from our meeting - and I have to say, I got pretty excited, too.
The day of their engagement session rolled around, and so did the clouds and fog in York Harbor, Maine. We chose to stay local to their hometown of York (where Meg works at the beautiful Cliff House resort and Cam serves as a bike cop on the town's beaches).
A bit of drizzle and light rain showered us softly as we walked across the beloved Wiggly Bridge (an old childhood favorite of mine), and through the Steedman Woods for a bit of shelter. After a short stroll to our final destination, we finished our session at the Cliff Walk of York, as the skies darkened from the "setting sun," hidden well behind the thick clouds and dense fog.
Despite the dreary weather, Meg and Cam's spirits were high and their love was brilliant. They laughed, they played, and they danced through the woods, beaches and cliffs with an energy that made up for the lack of sunshine.
And our final sequence of blue hour images at the foggy cliff tops? Magic.
To us Mainers, beach weather is whatever kind decides to show up that day.
