Allrose Farm, New Hampshire | Cozy and Romantic Valentine's Elopement Editorial

“Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort, of feeling safe with a person; having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.” // George Eliot

Love was in the air… for this romantic editorial with a nod to a cozy Valentine’s Day theme.

A few days before Valentine’s Day 2019, I greeted some old ‘friendors’ (that’s vendor friends, for those not familiar with the wedding biz slang) and met a few new ones on a blustery (and sadly snow-scarce) day at Allrose Farm, a charming property in Greenfield, New Hampshire providing rustic elegance in a quiet setting off the beaten path.

When dreaming up this moody, Valentine’s-inspired editorial, our team stayed true to a few key words: cozy, romantic, intimate, sweet. The aesthetic driving our design included deep reds and delicate pinks, woven into our whimsical floral arrangements, silk runners draped across a sweetheart table for two, agate coasters in magenta, and of course, a few sweet treats like sangria and cake (adorned with roses, naturally). Our bride and groom, a real-life couple who had gotten married a few months prior, enjoyed a cozy candlelight scene on the barn floor of Allrose Farm, cuddling up beside a fire for warmth (and some space heaters out of frame) - making a cold barn look rather steamy ;)

The name of the venue itself fit perfectly with our theme - because how could Valentine's Day not include the beauty of a rose? As a nod to the holiday's designated flower, our design included roses throughout the decor, from our tablescape and stationery elements to a fun floral swing on the farm's grounds. Serious props go to our bride Courtney, whose toes sank into the mud beneath the swing while the wind whipped her hair about on a 20-something degree day in New Hampshire. (The things we do for the photo op.)

Though the fickle New England weather didn’t provide us with the "winter wonderland" scene we had hoped for, Courtney and Chris fought the elements with grace and heart-bursting love that even the chilling winds couldn't stifle. All the elements of the day collided perfectly to create that cozy, romantic Valentine's vision we were hoping for, brought to life by two of the sweetest people you'll ever meet.

Thanks for the photo fun, you two.
